1.      Turn off unneeded Service

Many Service in Windows 7 is not every day we need. Such services should be disabled. Off services that are not needed can increase the speed of booting system. There are two kinds of options to disable the service, the first is a total turn off ( disable ), the second is setting it to manual. The second way is safer, because you can activate it at any time you need.



Services below can in off ( set to manual ) :
  • Application Experience
  • Computer Browser ( If you do not work in the network )
  • Desktop Window Manager Session Manager ( If you do not want the Aero Effect )
  • Diagnostic Policy Service
  • Distributed Link Tracking Client
  • IP Helper
  • Offline Files
  • Portable Device Enumerator Service
  • Print Spooler ( If you do not have a printer )
  • Protected Storage
  • Remote Registry ( Disable to improve security )
  • Secondary Logon
  • Security Center
  • Server ( If you are not running a computer network )
  • Tablet PC Input Service
  • TCP/IP NetBIOS Helper
  • Themes ( If you use the Classic Theme )
  • Windows Error Reporting Service
  • Windows Media Center Service Launcher
  • Windows Search ( If you rarely use Fasilitan Search )
  • Windows Time ( If you do not want the clock on the computer are updated automatically via the internet )

Follow the instructions below to disable the Service ( Service set to manual ) :
  • Open the Control Panel -> click Administrative Tools -> Services. Or press Start, type service.msc in the search field, press Enter.
  • If there is a notification from UAC, press Continue, and if necessary enter the administrator password
  • Right click on the Service that you want to change its status, click Properties.
  • Now you can set the Service that you want to be Manual.
  • Press OK, then do a Reboot.

2.      Adjust the number of Core Processors

Windows 7 uses only one kind of core to the booting process. By changing the amount of core is used, you can reduce boot time.

  • Press Start and enter msconfig in the Run column
  • Click the Boot tab and click Advanced
  • Check the number of processor cores you, and input the number ( usually 2, 4 or 8 )
  • Click OK and Apply, then Reboot

3.      Accelerate time Kill Processes

Shutdown Windows 7 faster than Vista or XP, but this can be increased further by making changes in the Registry to reduce the waiting time required to perform Kill Processes

  • Click Start, type regedit and press Enter
  • Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ CurrentControlSet \ Control
  • In the right pane, right click and click Modify WaitToKillServiceTimeOut
  • The default is 12 000 ( 12 seconds ), but you can change it to be faster, input numbers 2000 - 20000 ( 2 - 20 seconds )
  • Click OK and Reboot
